Memry
We're bringing postcards back. Memry lets users send real, printed postcards with AR video attached — upload any photo, we print and ship it via post. Recipients scan the card to watch the video come alive in augmented reality.
Memry: Bringing Postcards Back
Postcards used to be the way people shared moments — a snapshot from a trip, a greeting from far away. Somewhere along the way, they faded out, replaced by instant messages that disappear in a feed. We believe postcards deserve a comeback. Memry is our mission to make postcards popular again — by giving them something digital messages can never have: a physical card you can hold, enhanced with a video you can watch in augmented reality.
The Challenge
Postcards lost their place in a world of instant communication. But digital messages, for all their speed, lack the weight of something real — something that arrives at your door, that you can pin to your wall, that someone took the time to send. We set out to bring postcards back by merging what made them special — the personal, tangible touch — with the richness of video and AR. Not replacing the tradition, but evolving it.
Our Solution
Memry is a web portal where users can create and send personalized video postcards in just a few steps.
How It Works
- Upload your photo — any image you want printed on the front of your postcard.
- Attach a video — drag and drop or browse to upload a short video (MP4/MOV, up to ~20 seconds).
- Add a personalized message — write a note for the back of the card.
- Enter sending details — tell us where to ship it.
- Pay and send — we print the postcard and ship it via traditional post.
When the recipient gets the card, they scan the QR code on the back. The attached video plays in augmented reality, overlaid on the real postcard — turning a simple card into a magical, memorable experience.

The Portal
The creation flow is designed to be intuitive and fast. A step-by-step wizard guides users through postcard design, video upload, personalized message, sending details, and payment — no app download required, everything runs in the browser.

AR Experience
The real magic happens when the postcard arrives. Each card includes a scannable QR code. When scanned, the video comes alive in AR — the recipient sees the video playing right on top of the physical postcard. It turns a flat photo into a living memory.
Technology Stack
- Frontend: React with Next.js and TypeScript
- AR: WebAR for the augmented reality postcard experience
- Infrastructure: AWS for scalable, reliable delivery
- Design: Figma for UI/UX design
Impact
- Postcards, reimagined — bringing back the tradition of sending postcards, now enhanced with video and AR.
- Physical meets digital — a real postcard you can hold, with a video you can watch in AR.
- No app required — the AR experience works directly in the browser via QR code.
- Simple creation flow — upload a photo, attach a video, write a message, and send.
- Shipped via post — we handle printing and delivery, just like a traditional postcard service.
Technical Highlights
- Browser-based AR video playback triggered by QR code scan
- Step-by-step postcard creation wizard with drag-and-drop video upload
- Print-ready postcard generation from user-uploaded photos
- End-to-end flow: digital creation to physical delivery to AR experience
Memry is our bet that postcards aren't dead — they just needed an upgrade. By combining the charm of a real, printed card with the power of AR video, we're making postcards worth sending again.
